UHP Welcome Experience Mentor
Mission
My experience with the UHP Welcome Experience summer program allowed me to be a mentor to incoming first-year honor students. We played board games together and learned about what we all have in common and what makes us unique. I had the oppourtunity to mentor approximately six students alongside another mentor. During our timme, we took a tour around campus and showed our mentees where their classes would be, we also showed them study areas and nice relaxing spots on campus such as Nippert stadium, the libraries, and all of the cafeterias. With the UHP honors experience, we met virtually once a month for training throughout the summer. Towards the end of the summer, to finish the program, everyone had a nice lunch and bonded over the created memories. This experience inspired me to get more involved on campus; for example, I now participate in Bearcat Academy. Being a mentor is something I love to do.
Vision
I became a UHP Welcome Experience Mentor to help engage and mentor incoming first-year students. I also wanted to feel more connected to the honors community and build more relationships with people. I love to guide others on the right path.
