Keyona Schill
Hey There!
Hi, my name is Keyona (Key-on-uh) Schill. I am a Gen-1 Scholar, the first child out of both of my parents to go to college. I'm a presidential scholar currently majoring in criminal justice, minoring in psychology, and focusing on a certificate in forensic populations. I'm apart of Honors program at the University of Cincinnati. I'm also a undergraduate research student in the Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program.
Criminal justice and psychology haven't given me a new expansion of knowledge of how people think, and act and what causes these behaviors and their outcomes. As a minority, it is essential to me that more African-Americans are in the criminal justice field.
My Interests, Passions, Strengths and Values
I'm interested in pursuing a Ph.D. as a Clinical Psychologist so I can focus on young teenagers (especially minorities) mental health and make the world a better place. Everyone wants to become a nurse or a teacher but I want to focus on the real problems of our youth and make a change for the upcoming generation. As a criminal justice student, I want to help rebuild our community and focus on getting juveniles out of trouble and providing them the support that they need such as: helping them finish school, get a job, reading and writing, and mental health resources.
I value my alone time, taking walks in parks, road trips, watching the sunset until sunrise, and listening to music. My favorite genres of music include country, pop, R&B, and hip-hop.
